Having called up all Chrusty 1's most recent 200 posts and read through those on this, Reader to Reader, forum I cant say I have found anything to object to (Apart from an accusation that I am tone deaf.

More than a bit harsh. Has something in particular got up your nose? Don't agree with everything Chrusty1 writes but a lot of it is appropriate, entertaining and not malicious. Don't see a problem, nor, I doubt do many others.

eyehavit has PMed me to say that he's not part of anyone's chorus line. I accept that, but was surprised at his singling out of Chrusty1 for what seems to be an innocuous comment in this thread.

People whose random interjections into threads may be a little abusive, or misconstrued as impolite, are the forum's equivalent of hoboes with halitosis or people on public transport who have Body-Odour. They're probably nice people behind the offensiveness, and I'm sure they don't INTENTIONALLY have halitosis or BO. It's really up to us to show them some kindness and tell them discretely. So if a forumite is offensive, next time, give 'em a scrap of carbolic soap and tell them to wash themselves at the next public tap they come to. They'll appreciate you for it!

Lifebuoy soap is alive & well & on sale by the yard at the Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight, where it is made. Also sold at Blist's Hill Museum village near Ironbridge, and probably at the Beamish museum. It does smell of disinfectant & my grandkids call it "grandad's soap". It is excellent for getting oily grime off my hands after a hard day bike bashing.
Can I recommend that Eyehaveit (sp?) sends comments like the one that started this thread by PM next time? Slagging people off in public makes him appear as bad as the person he is criticising. Chrusty likes to stand outside the tent peeing in, that's his bag, so be it. A little tolerance will go a long way & it isn't difficult to find something positive to say about anyone, especially if you wish to modify their behaviour rather than simply start a fight. Think about it.

Hello all,
Well I went away and had a think, and to be honest, I am feeling that it's all a bit of a storm in a tea cup! However I do have a few things I would like to say........
Firstly, thank you to all who responded to the thread in a positive and even supportive way.
To Searush, with the greatest respect, you don't know me from Adam, so to say that something is my bag is just silly, if you knew me, you would know that I do not piss in peoples tents, or whatever, I say what I think, and if any criticism could be levelled fairly at me, it's that I tend to speak too plainly at times, probably comes from being a cantankerous old git.
To Windfinder, I hope you wont disagree with me too violently, I am far too old for fisticuffs, and I don't run very fast either..........I did appreciate what you said.

To those of you that think I might be somebody else, what can I say?? It has been suggested on other occasions, that I might be CG1 and even others, I wonder what this person /persons did, to warrant such paranoia in the forums and notoriety for themselves?
To anybody that might be reading this, I am who I am, it is highly unlikely that at my time of life I am going to change to any notable degree, so if you don't like what I have to say, wouldn't it be easier for you to just not read my posts, or put me on ignore. The other option you have is to send me a PM. As long as it's moderately polite, and explaining to me why I should not have said something, or why you think I am wrong, then I will read it, and respond in a like manner.
Finally, I agree very strongly with the poster that said threads of this nature should not be cluttering up the PBO forum, it is not what it is for.
