Chronometer repair

Rigel quartz chronometer, not working, inherited from bro. Might be worth a repair, the company no longer exists, any ideas? I suppose any clock repair outfit would do.

The principle cause of failure of a quart clock is bad battery connections. (corrosion) Try hard wire a 1.5 v cell to connections down stream from battery holder. If that fails then replace the whole mechanism. Plenty available on ebay etc. I imagine that is what a clock technician would do being primarily mechanical skilled not electronic. ol'will

Yes I will do this, as it won't be used at sea any more. The battery connections are working, current downstream. Thanks.
