WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
====================
Issued: 1200 Friday 22nd December 2006
SATURDAY ( see http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/geturl/daten/profi/en/ukmo/PPVG89.jpg )
High pressure to the east of the UK, with more of a breeze over southern England.
Plenty of dense fog around in the morning across England , Wales and southern Scotland. This is going to be slow to clear once again, although around the coasts it should be clearer.
Across the rest of Scotland and Ireland there will be some brighter spells as well as broken cloud.
Winds in the south E 2-4kt (F1-F2), mainly S 2-5kt (F2) through northern England and southern Scotland, S-SW 5-12kt (F3) across northern and western Scotland as well as the far west of Ireland.
CHRISTMAS EVE ( see http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/geturl/daten/profi/en/ukmo/PPVJ89.jpg )
The high is expected to be centred off the east coast on Sunday, although forecasting it's exact position is tricky, and of course this will have a bearing on conditions.
Generally though another foggy day seems likely. Once again the fog clearing places, and then returning again through the night. Anywhere through England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland could see fog apart from the far west of Ireland and the far west of Scotland.
Winds mainly S 3-5kt (F2) but E-ENE 3-7kt (F2) across the south of England, which may aid the lifting of the fog.
CHRISTMAS DAY ( SATURDAY (see http://expert.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/geturl/daten/profi/en/ukmo/PPVL89.jpg)
The high still to the east through the Big day itself.
More of a southerly breeze through all areas, and so it may be that the fog has more of a tendency to clear away. However, some parts may stay trapped in mist and murk throughout.
Winds mainly S-SE 8-10kt (F3).
