Christmas Quiz 2016

Very good. Well done. Shows I've been healthy this year, the pub related questions have stumped me :(

And tonight I can cheat, we are dining with a Dutchman:encouragement:

Dear ECF types,

Here is the Christmas Quiz 2016
Phil, aka Osprey of Orwell, is having trouble with forum passwords so has asked me to post this year's quiz on his behalf.
In the pdf file you will see that all replies should be directed to Phill
So good luck and may it keep you busy for at least a few days.

For anyone having trouble downloading the Quiz
then try this different copy of the same file - > https://yachtrunningfree.files.wordpress.com/2016/12/ecf-2016-quiz.pdf

Thanks, that looks great. It will keep us guessing for a week or two.

Can I urge other forumites to send in their answers, however poorly you think you have done, because after all the effort of setting it, it is really upsetting if hardly anyone bothers to enter. (I speak from experience, having set a couple of them, both a few years ago.)

Agree! I'll make an entry, but suspect will score even less than Champagne Murphy!
Flippin' 'eck!
I reckon I might get about three of those!
It'll be more than me!

Great quiz = thanks for doing it.

This looks like a great, head-scratching quiz. Will be a welcome distraction from turkey stuffing etc...
Thanks for setting it.

Great quiz!
Should I be disappointed that I did much better on the Colregs than the pubs?
Actually, I even did better on churches than pubs. I must get out more!
Thanks.

And the winner is ... Cantata. Well done. I don't seem to be allowed to add attachments, so if you would like all of the answers, email me. The 'difficult ones were: 1. Bradwell marina bar, 3. Ferryboat Inn at N Fambridge, 5. Paglesham Creek, 15. Butley Oyster(opening again in the spring) and 20. Ostend.
Osprey

Blimey, we sailed from Paglesham for 30 years, and I don't remember seeing anything like the Q5 photo there...

Worse still, we live a few miles from Butley and go past the currently being renovated Butley Oyster Inn quite frequently, but even when it was open years ago, I don't recall that sign...

Dementia setting in... or maybe I should get some new specs.

Very enjoyable quiz though...thank you.

You should get out more, Jan...:encouragement:
It was a good quiz. I wish now I hadn't tried so hard. The 2017 one will be a source of constant worry for the next 11 months.
