Chitwood Charters (MBY March) & Florida Bareboat Charter

Hi All,

Having read the article in MBY (March I think) about bareboat hire in Florida I suggested a similar trip to a couple of friends and we are now making plans for later in the year.

The article specifically refers to Chitwood Charters (running a small fleet of Grand Banks) and although their website is pretty basic the prices are very competitive.

So my question to you is whether anyone has experience of Chitwood and/or would recommend a bareboat charter on the Gulf coast?

Hi Joe,

This was a couple of charters I did with a Jung Charters.

Sadly Weston Jung who was a true gentleman sadly passed away last year. I understand the family considered continuing the business but in the end decided to wind it down.

Hugo offered Chitwood as a local alternative, I have no first hand experience. I found email communication with Wes Jung revealed a company that worked hard to give you all the information needed to make a decision, (including the end I called in and net him) try the sane with Chitwood.

Search for Florida Charter in the search facility there are two threads I wrote on our experiences. I intend to go back as it is a great cruising area so would be interested in any information/ opinions of Chitwood.
