Prompted by a thread on another forum- where is the best chippie on the coast? My experience is limeted to the SE coast, no doubt there will be some tedious northeners that will insist that the only decent fish and chips are to be had north of Scarborough. The much-lauded Aldburgh chippie, the last time I went, was rubbish- soggy chips and dry fish. I always rate Winkies in Brightlingsea- any other reccomendations?

Offton Limeburners!!!
OK, so it's a bit inland (about 6 miles W of Ipswich), but it's the best I've yet discovered, and it's actually an Adnams selling pub with a Fish & chip resto built on the side.

In Ipswich my vote goes to Poplar at the bottom of Woodbridge Road (near the Milestone/Caribbean Association).

Right on the coast though, I like the Fish & chips in The Victoria at Old Felixstowe, but it's a pub, not a chippy, so maybe doesn't count. Rather like them from the cafe there too.

Love this subject, but now drooling, buggah. Hundreds of miles away, stuck on the wrong type of vessel and on a diet... not a topic I should have on my mind.

Aaagh. Jem.
