I have a Chimp MK1 bilge pump that has developed a leak in the diaphragm. When I brought my boat it came with some spares, I knew there was a part used spares kit that has a new diaphragm, and some other parts. There is a small tube that I think is some sort of glue it has been opened and part used, the tube has gone hard, I do not know how old it is. I have been looking online for fitting instructions and the type of glue that I think comes with the kit with no luck. I was thinking of using CT1 as a substitute glue. Has any one fitted one of these kits and can give me any pointers.

I've never heard of a diaphragm being repaired. I would replace it plus possibly the other rubber bits.
Thankyou for your reply. My apologies if my OP was confusing. In my OP I did say there is a new diaphragm in the part used service kit that came with the boat and that is what I would be using. I was more interested in any pointers any one could give me and would CT1 be ok to use as a glue.

I have the same pump. If I recall correctly the glue may be used to secure the valves. The diaphragm gets a watertight seal with the 8 bolts.
( btw When the diaphragm fails it is possible to purchase nitrile sheet and make a replcement.)
Hope that helps,
Graham

Thankyou, your reply is the sort of help I am looking for.
