Chimet on the move...

So the Chimet weather station is on the move, from the old Bar Beacon:



to the new West Pole:


(Though I imagine the platforms will come off once installation is complete)

I saw the new poles at the weekend and it was only on the way back in that I realised I hadn't seen them before. Very off putting as they are well out of line with the current bar beacon and west pole.

It's not wreckers setting up the new marks to lure us all on to the Winner, is it?

If you subscribe to the conservancy email update service you'll know all about it. There has been a wave of emails all about the installation of the new bar beacon & west pole complete with chartlets, waypoints etc etc etc.

Worse than that - it's off air from today! When will it be reinstated? Depends on the weather apparently.
(No sweat for you affluent guys with deep-water berths of course, but some of us read Chimet before putting to sea , . . . or coming home.)
