Long story, but with Bosun very sick in the doggie hospital we decided to slum it down Mudway way yesterday. Lunch at RCC with Oldgit and Mrs Oldgit followed by a couple of hours cruising on the magnificent SarahT.
One of those delightful little interludes in life when it all comes together. Lovely weather with fabulous skies and not much traffic to get in the way.

PS Wish I'd taken a proper camera but quite pleased with what the iPhone can do !

Is that the entrance to Chatham Maritime Marina in the first picture?

Also, what's the old paddle steamer up on the hard. Seems like there should be a story there.

Its an ex admiralty paddle tug.Probably the very last as props had long ago proved superior but the navy as always was 100 years behind.
Total cock up as paddles were hopeless and the tug was well underpowered,ended up doing rubbish stuff before early retirement.

Wonderful, a boat club that really does have a Purser, I love it !

SWMBO's utensils were collected by the very able and, dare I say, delightful young ladies that waited at table.

However, it was suggested that my prestigious presence in your midst was worthy of recognition and I was allowed to keep my spoon and pusher .......

PS if you visit RCC and are trying to control your weight, DO NOT partake of Sunday lunch :D

As a result of your visit ,the club may be thinking of setting up a "cute" boat section,discussions are going on with the council about using a local duck pond to keep the boats on !:):):)
 
Ah, near high tide I see, did Fred use the "I've only got half an hours window so we can't go very far because I won't be able to get back on my executive mud berth " ploy, thus saving him weeping in front of you because of diesel consumption?
 
He did ask me several times if this was the speed I normally went everywhere at.
Several bits of driftwood over took us at one point !

Nope, not at all ! I have to say he was in fine fettle and happy to give us a ride - nary a whinge or a wimper

Yes, I did ask if your gentle progress was normal but the 'driftwood' comment is well out of order :D

Maybe we can book you to undertake a non-tidal presentation tour on the joys of considerate speed boating?

Been wondering if there might be room for my 'cute' boat to moor just in front of yours but would hate to drag down the neighbourhood and doubt I could afford it :D

So the Matalano-Primani multi pack flannelette jim jams nailed to a pole didn't afford you any more speed then....oh well, win some lose some.
