Does anyone have any recommendations for places to stay / eat in or near Chichester?

The Millstream hotel in Bosham is nice and set in a lovely village 10 mins from Chichester.

For eating all these have been visited this year and were good:

Crown and Anchor, Dell Quay
The Ship, Itchenor
The Blacksmiths, Donnington.

Chichester Harbour Hotel is very nice as is the Jetty Restaurant within the hotel, To be honest there are many restaurants in the centre so i think you could always find somewhere nice on the day.

Bosham is beautiful. Also consider the Anchor Bleu which is waterside in Bosham, with ok pub grub. The Millstream is nice but is quite a schlepp inland from the waterside

Also recommend the pub at Dell Quay. In town we had a great meal at Brasserie Blanc.

"Near" is a relative term but you could try Emsworth for a selection of eateries but depends on your type of food and budget Closer to Chi harbour there is a pub at Chidem which is quite good however some other pubs can be rather plastic offerings if on main road. If you book in advance Dell Quay is best bet but I am told more cheaply the yacht club at Chi does food and there is a Boathouse at marina which seems fine. Quite a good Chinese near Prinsted . Don't stray into Havant or Hayling Island though for a whole variety of reasons . Trip adviser is your friend - we found excellent fish and chip shop in Eastbourne using this source. In Chi itself you might find various eateries but the food in most hotel restaurants is poor . Have a look for restaurants near the theatre maybe ?
