Chichester

Hi peeps. we are planning a short jaunt to chichester after a days sailing off the coast. Anyone recommend and decent eating facility in the vicinity of Chichester marina (within walking distance)

The Black Horse, go out the marina turn left walk up the main road about 1-1.5miles and you will find it, amazing food especially the food and excellant service. There is also a pub if you turn right, it looks good but I have never been there.
When are you coming to Chichester? We are berthed right next to the fuel pontoon, so give us a wave as you come through the lock/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

We went there for the first time last Bank Holiday Monday. Got a taxi to The Black Horse as we had two small children with us. They were not serving food as they had had a busy week-end. Got another taxi into Chichester and on the way the driver recommended Woodys which turned out to be very good. The one thing you notice about the marina is how polite all the staff are! Very wierd at first but I guess for what the residents must paying they expect it! We were put on the fuel berth while they sorted out a place for us and then the couple on the next boat offered to drive us to the pub which was a nice gesture. We got soaked by a motor-boat that came close and fast past us at the entrance but apart from that slight rudeness all was very pleasant and we will go back. Would not go into the marina again though. Itchenor looks a goog place to spend the night next time. There are visitors buoys and a pub on shore.

No problem if you "arrive from sea". The welcome pack given out by the Marina as you check in makes it clear that you're welcome. Went there about 5 weeks ago and was made most welcome (I did wipe my hoofs as I entered).
