Any advice for staying the night on the dry preferably near a pub (to meet some friends) like at Bosham or Dell Quay in Chichester Harbour in a 16ft sailing dinghy (we have a boom tent)? Is School Rythe any good. Would like to avoid mud as I would like to walk to and from the boat.
Thanks

Dell Quay,

No passing traffic, either in front of the pub or down the side near the hard. and pontoon (which will probably be full). No public loo.

Yes, was thinking the same...

Or I need a method of retrieving the boat afloat at anchor... with a looping shore line system (need a lot of line!). I guess there’s the risk of others getting entangled...

Or tie up to the 'new' drying pontoon at DQSC and step onto that with clean feet. You can book as a visitor on the website. Loads of options.

The only problem might be that during lockdown Dell Quay has been a magnet for substantial groups of people looking to party/fight into the early hours. (...and a local got punched in the face by a bait digger.) I doubt they'd bother you unless you bothered them but might be un-pleasant to be kipping in a boat surrounded by noisy ner-do-wells. I suspect that problem will end by July 4th when the pub opens again.

Bosham and Prinstead have had similar issues. I guess the party people have similar requirements to the OP. Pitcuresque place by the sea with non-muddy access to the sea. :)

Prinsted never been busier with traffic down to beach as high water approaches some no doubt driven there and Bosham etc by Witterings closures. There are no pubs in Prinsted just a sea scout hut. If you fancy a drink you have to walk to Chidem house at home.
