The increase in thefts wouldn't coincide with the forum being down would it? The devil makes work for idle hands and all that...

She said it makes it even harder to solve the thefts as crimes go unreported for several weeks, with harbour users not checking their equipment on a regular basis.
I guess we need to check our equipment more often then!!

Talking to a couple of guys at the club (Langstone) this week who like me have their boats on the Chichester side of the Hayling bridge they confirmed that they had both had breaks in's this year, but that they thought the perpeptrators had been caught - one of the guys had said he'd already been invited by the police to id his outboard (which he could) - what's more he said the police had a large number of them... I think he said that the police had strong suspicions about who it was all along but needed to catch them in the act (which I think they did).... may be one and the same incident????
