Sad to hear that Chertsey Marine at Penton Hook marina is holding a closing down sake from today until Sunday.

That’s really sad news. I’ve known Steve and Sharon for donkeys years, although we’d lost touch a bit over the past couple of years since moving the boat from Penton to the coast. Steve did all the work on my current boat in the early years of ownership, and the previous boat for more years than I care to remember. Really nice, and immensely knowledgable, people.

Racecourse has a very sparsely stocked chandlery. Some rope, boat wash, couple of fenders, bit of compound/polish and a drinks fridge. Shame as there's a bit of space to stock more.

They have a rather elegant café there too, now.
