Hopefully off to Cherbourg with Sealine on Friday, anyone know what sockets they work on? We have 16amp and 10amp EuroPlugs I think they're called. Used in MDL. Do I need anything different? Thanks in advance. Paul

quick tIP,
if you use the MDL metered one, it clocks up time that you will get charged for by MDL. so better to have or use an un metered cable when anywhere but MDL.

The Visiters pontoons are wired reverse polarity(as are quite a few Frence marinas)- I have made up a short flying lead to change it back.

Does that mean if you have an MDL lead it'll run the meter backwards?

It is the normal blue EU plug, connection is free but the trips will go if you take more than 5A approx. I have tested many of the visitors sockets and as yet have not found a reversed polarity one in the 'new' marina, but frequently did in the days of the old visitors area (and old French plug/sockets) in what is now the local boat marina.

Re: all about cherbourg

thiv got normal lectric, but lots of other things are a bit weird. First, there are no cleats on pontoons so you have to sortof tie them on. Then, when you jump off to tie them on, the little platic finger ponttons are wobbly and try to tip you into the sea. The electric is normal but there's no hosepipe cos you have to supply yer own. Finally, the food is blimmin French! No bacon sarnies, no egg and chips, nuthin! But the cafe de paris is ok.
