Chentleman\'s Cruise 2007

If we stick to a similar format the dates would be Thursday 3rd May through to Monday 7th.

Perhaps it would be healthy to debate the format - if anyone has any strong views and thinks we are in need of a change of date, venue or diet then now's the time.

For my Threepennyworth - there is a possibility that Claymore may not be in commission then and so a charter may have to be considered.

jist a meenit ... nane orra this backsliding and youse an muzzy becoming a pair o' jessies slurping tea when there's anti-fouling tae be done ..

is there no a buzzness oppportunity seeing as how yer croupier courses must be getting a bum steer wi' orra these casinos gang tits up and getting the trainees intae the boat maintenance?

huv ye seen ma wee pic orra whit happens efter he's been at ra booze ... wull be sailing aff tae ra costa RothesayO, jist mark ma wurds ...

Re: Chentleman\'s Cruise 2007

Dates look fine to me, but, then, I have no strong dietary preferences.

Weather, boat, and work permitting, we'll be heading back from the Clyde to sunny Argyll at Easter time.

A catamaran?
lissen - I saw how much you liked the Najad - why not buy a brace and get some planks to tie them together with?

Re: Chentleman\'s Cruise 2007

there's the trouble - i like all boats tho not sure I likem enough to have two the same tho. Would a catamaran be somehow unsatisfactory? I was hoping that a beam reach or downwind run could be organised, revengewise. And chentlemen never sail to windward do they? Well, not if they're called mac girly.

Oh well - I see from whence you come - sound thinking. At least it ought to be possible to put Para and Jimi in a hull together and give the rest of us some peace - I'd just make sure the booze and food are elsewhere.
There was a nice looking thing in Croabh last summer - it looked awfully fast and big with a driving seat at the back of each thingy - I think it was french which means we could never be seen on it.

Sounds like something that requires discussion over a beer!

What the real question should be is should "gentlemen and Jimi" be mentioned in the same breath - doesn't seem right to me /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Chentleman\'s Cruise 2007

ooh no it is fine for true brits to be seen on a french or spanish built boat, partly because some very saily types might possibly be impressed as it could appear we have captured them as "prizes" like in Patrick o'brien books, although mainly it's fine cos they're cheap.

Can't fault the format (2006 was drink, sail, drink, sail, drink, sail, drink sail while 2007 was sail, drink, sail, drink, sail, drink, sail, drink IIRC) or the date (great start to the season as well as a date for completion of the job list) and how could the venue be improved?

It's in my diary.
