Checking oil on an outboard but what trim setting...

As title suggests, I check my oil level every time before I head out. My issue is what trim level should it be at for the correct reading. Boat is a Merry Fisher 755 with a Suzuki 175HP? I've googled but to no avail so thought I'd try the forum. Thanks in advance.

Just to check, is that spirit level vertical or that looks kinda vertical ish. Just want to check the latter is good enough?
