Checking EPIRB details

Anyone know how to check EPIRB details on the MCA database. I logged on and expected to be able to check data base entry against my EPIRB details but there didn't appear to be an option to check only forms to make changes.

Have you tried putting in your boat name (you might also need your VHF callsign if boat name is 'common' )
to see what info is registered?

As regards the ITU database I think that unless you alsomupdate your OFCOM ships radio licence with the EPIRB/PLB details it won't be shown. When you register with the MCA it's for search and rescue purposes and doesn't link to the ITU database.

You could well be right, I think I updated my OFCOM ships radio licence, so my details show.

Hey , yes your EPIRB and any radar and all radio equipment should be on the OFCOM register, maybe go onto their website and see if you can trace it that way, I can log onto my account and see all my eqiupment

Some people have EPIRBS who don't have boats or ship radio licences. I obtained my MMSI online 10 years ago but no sign of anything on the OFCOM site either. It doesn't recognise my email address. Having just read the Louisa sinking report again its all feeling a bit creaky. Maybe an Inreach or Spot would be better at least you can check regularly that the whole system is working.
