Checking a boat mortgage

How can I check if a boat is currently mortgaged prior to purchase ?

If the boat's registered, the charge will be listed.

Depends on the lender, I think, although most marine mortgages will insist on Part 1 registration so that they can properly secure the loan with a charge.

If it's only SSR, I'd guess any loan would be a personal loan and you wouldn't need to worry about it.
