Cheapest reliable AIS receiver

Have been planning to get an AIS transceiver but it never quite gets to the top of the wish list. In the meantime am thinking of getting just a receiver to connect to my Garmin GPSMap 4010 plotter

Already have a VHF aerial installed waiting for the Comar set I want so I just need the receiving unit.

Has anyone got got any recommendations for a cheapo set that will do the job. Either NMEA0183 or 2000.

Might be worth trying to find a Garmin AIS300 at a good price as they have a combined VHF splitter so no need to install a seperate antenna or buy a splitter.
