What it the weather like through the winter? Is it simply cool or does it get plain cold?

I ask as we will bed needing a stop over for the next winter 12/13.. Though syuspect you will have moved on by the time we get there??

This last winter here in Cartagena was simply gorgeous weatherwise - it rained maybe 5 times, only one weekly BBQ get-together was affected by rain! Days of 15°C at lunchtime in the sun were typical, nights down to 6°C occasionally colder. Sunshine seems to be "normal" here. All that said I have heard it was the driest winter on the Costa Calida in 60 years. But thre previous winter was maybe only 10% wetter.

Yes, by next winter I will have moved on further east. If you decide to come here I'm sure you'll have a good time.

Marina suggestions

Alcaidesa has been suggested: they are extremely reasonable and probably publish on their web site.

Ragusa has not been mentioned, also north of you on S. coast of Sicily and offering discounts.

Almerimar is still good value?

Not sure about access/security issues, but Rocella Ionica was good quite recently.

Santa Pola had plenty of room last year.. relatively good value and close to Alicante airport.
