Morning all - can you recommend the cheapest winter hard storage rates in the solent area for a 32’ yacht? ( Needles to Chichester)
Need shore pwr too

Over on the Island - Bembridge way, relatively cheap - does that count as the Solent ?

As mentioned, cheapER, not cheap;

in Chichester try Wilsons Boatyard, Hayling Island - nice place, good service, good rates.

Thornham Marina ( near Emsworth, on Thorney Island ) - up & coming, last I knew, friendly & good rates.

Hayling Yacht Co. Used to be competitive, haven't dealt with them for a while.

Emsworth Marina 01243 377727 worth a try, good place if they can fit you and the price is OK...

Could also try around Portsmouth, Gosport Boat Yard did have good rates but beware traffic even in winter.

Try Gill Williams at Drivers Wharf at Northam on the Itchen, friendly, efficient staff and not the dearest either. Almost at Northam Bridge , chandlery close too.Have lifted out there 3 times and at short notice.

You could try Trafalgar Wharf at the top of Portsmouth Harbour opposite Port Solent

Worth checking current price at Port Solent - surprisingly, their minimum 3 month deal was best in Solent. Very large chandlery and lots of services on site. Last there winter 2007/08.

I can't recommend these guys enough. friendly helpful and reasonably priced. Only problem can be the antifoul strippers wokring in the yard make a real mess but it does mean that you dont have to be particularly tidy if you are are doing a dirty job.

How did you get on with finding a 'reasonably' priced winter storage solution? We'd be glad to help if you are still looking. I wouldn't say we are cheap because that tends to imply 'inferior'. However, we do offer competitive rates and a friendly place to lay-up. I hope we can help.
