Re: booking cheapy tickets now

Unfortunately ( for us ) airline pricing managers understand these patterns... consequently you will pay more NOW than at some time in the future ... also they will catch you as they know that even the best planners sometimes fail to travel...hence overbookng profiles..

the £1 jobbies are of course for show EXCEPTING Ryanair who have a different business model .. and that's true

Another winge about ezyjet

Also, Ezyjet's pricing is disingenuous imho. They quote a base price then add extras. One extra is tax, and I think it's ok to show that as an extra. But they also add a "Barclays fat cat charge", which is basically some kind of fee they pay for using Luton airport. In other words, an overhead. It has been negotiated in the open market, just like their costs for fuel, wages, tyres, planemending etc. It shouldn't be extracted and used to reduce the "headline" ticket price, imho.

Re: Changing model

I average less than £120 return in last 12 months, given that I usually fly out Friday pm and back Monday pm, that's one heck of an achievement,,, and I DON't always use Easyjet.

Easyjet summer schedule is great for a weekend break, BUT winter schedule is useless... also LTN hopeless if you live South ofThames... travelling time and cost..

BMI inter alia also do block tickets , I DIDN@T know that the Orange Kebab mob did, in fact I'm VERY VERY surprised as knowing a little oftheir systems and distribution and sales etc. I have NO iDea how they manage it... I'd be very interested in the terms too, when and (If)0 you get them....then I'll go and make a block offer on behalf of all of us to their Sales and marketing guy or to their CEO...there you are an offer you can not refuse

Re: Another winge about ezyjet

Just as well I'm anonymous here !!!

It is disingenous, their taxes and charges are a little overdone. You will also find that the low cost guys use toll-lines for customer service /booking changes.

Have you ever thought why there is usually only car rental company at some of Ryanair's destinations?

As for the 'Barclays fat Cat charge' , I consider that unprofessional, you are right it is in fact an airport charge , however levied/negotiated.

Every time Easyjet pit a price up on a seat do we call it a 'Fat Greek Charge'? No , I have the choice to go elsewhere as do Easyjet:- Stanstedt and Liverpool have loads of slots available.
