Cheap RYA first aid course Southampton April 4th

I used to teach the rya first aid course (amongst other syllabuses) and always thought it was very good.

The right balance between important stuff to know and nice to know.

Enjoy! :)

Every time I do the course I leave feeling primed and ready. I'm like a coiled spring waiting to help someone :)

Joking aside having some basic knowledge allows you to stay calm in an emergency and ensures the best outcome possible. There's nothing worse than panicking because you feel helpless. By the same token when I did my yachtmaster course after years of owning and operating motor boats I came out enjoying my boating so much more knowing I was doing the right thing and what the correct action was in any given situation. Much of it just confirmed I was doing the right thing but that confirmation was valuable.

A big fan of the whole RYA training programme.

In fact the sea survival course was another where I left finally knowing and understanding what the strange self inflating dinghy in a bag was all about. How nice to climb the learning curve in a swimming pool, all be it one where you're being pummelled with water, rather than in a stormy sea as your ship is sinking!

I had to do the courses for commercial reasons but if I had my time again I'd do them for recreational boating much earlier in my boating career.

Henry :)

Having been a paramedic for 20 years and counting....it’s all about swans....graceful on the surface....flapping about underneath :D

I did my yachtmaster at 24....the exam is still one of my best days ever. A real sense of achievement
