My local B&Q are now selling the baby 800w gennies at £39.95.
A 1.2 KW job in proper tube frame at £79.95
A 1.8 KW version at 139.95.
A small counter top fridge(about 800w 240v) for 69.95.

Yup, nearly bought one. Then checked the sound output (dB) Really not good.

My thing with these B&Q specials is quite simply pay up, keep the receipt, and (gleefully) accept a full refund when it chucks it at 8 months. Then buy another and ditto. They seem to work on the basis is someone buys an xyz, 99% of these someones will use it once, I'm on my 4th Power Router...

Bought a new one from an auction a couple of years ago. Very sensitive to dirt in the fuel but has done a good job for running strimmer etc in the garden. Much more convenient than the long electric cables I'd otherwise need. They are good value but you pay that little for something don't expect Honda quality!

Mine is now 3 years old,use it two or three times a year at most.Main purpose was to run 30M of ropelights on boat at local river festival. It did run a .8kw electric fan heater for a couple of hours at a push as we found out when unable to get onto berth and having to spend unplanned night aboard one freezing October last year.Does cough and protest a bit though.Def is not noisy compared to the racket given off by all the Briggs and Stratton powered brigade.
