Cheap inflatable Lidl

Re: Urgent warning

Im certainly not feeling superior, I made the mistake of following the forums advice and checking out these wonderful deals at lunch time

as I passed the sandwich counter I grabbed some sarnies

choice

Tuna and Gherkin

Cheese and Pepper

or
Salami, cheese and gherkin with mayo on whole grain

similar to the ingredients of a big mac you might think ?
Only similarity was the way the gherkin adhered to the window , what country of origin are these ?

Well I really detest these forums, y'know you want to pass on some hard won knowledge and you get password problems etc. Also there seems to be a lot of flippant "Branchee" types posting - it was ever thus!
Anyhow I bought a Lixo dinghy in May 2007 but I'm not happy with it. First of all it is a bit too heavy at 41 kilos approx, secondly it has the greatly-despised-by-my-yachtie friend peg-type oars. "Capn Bligh" only likes conventional rowlocks that can be used with almost any type of oar. As to the dinghy it was unopened until Sunday 12th October 2008 (a beautiful sunny day with the tide times perfect). Sadly the boat is a total disaster as the air valves fly off as soon as the pump is removed! Possibly it can be repaired but these dinghies really need launching wheels as they are just too heavy for single handing.
The Lixo automatic battery chargers were a disaster too as they quit at 12.5 volts and the voltage is fixed by zener diodes (no trimpot that can be adjusted). There was also the PEC200 power scraper which shredded its bevel gear after a couple of hours use scraping soft lime mortar off second-hand bricks. A Lixo 2400 watt garden shredder also quit on its first day as the "inkpot piece" shaped like an old fashioned inkwell was made of weak alloy. This piece carried the cutter disc and was not up to the task of shredding blackthorn twigs. As the machine was the last one in the store I decided to make a new piece from steel (I have a lathe) and after this the shredder worked quite well for several years. I now have a 5HP petrol engined shredder so the electric ones are now redundant. Other people have also had problems with lixo "consumer durables" that aren't durable at all but the trouble is that Rolls-Royce quality comes at a Rolls Royce price /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. Cest la vie!
