Cheap hotel malaga

Have a look at the Hotel Venicia, right in the centre of Malaga on Alameda Principale.
I stayed there for a long weekend just before Christmas last.
Cheap 'n cheerful.
Walking distance from the bus station but the airport bus passes the front door.
Go over the road and you are in the main business district (shops) and the moorish quarter. Turn right and you are in the harbour area. Left across the road is the oldest bodega in Malaga.

In the streets behind the hotel is a fine Arabic restaurant if you get fed up of tapas (is that possible?).

There is a direct bus to Cadiz, but it takes four hours each way and the first one leaves at 13.30. (www.ctsa-portillo.es/ima/pdf/malaga-estacion.pdf). Malaga itself has enough to keep you occupied - old town, cathedral, alcazaba (fort) and castle, Roman ruins, Picasso musuem and house, several museums/art galleries, including brand new automobile one, botanical garden, English cemetery, good bars and restaurants, theatre/concerts, shopping, beaches..........................
