Tis Makro Al.

Saw one in the flesh in t'Hull branch last week.

Many companies seem to offer different goods on their web, to that in stores.

If your desperate for one, I'll visit the Hull store and check if still available

See previous thread on these cheap gennys. I received a very full report on them form a forumite. It seems they push out a 'crude 'square wave output with large volatge variation which is fine for small tools but which may damage more sensitve equipment. I ws under the impression also that the 12 volt output was not sutable for battery charging and using it for such caused it to trip out????.
if nat's experience is otherwise i wd certainly be interested

Hello Owen.
The main reason I bought these gennys was for the battery charging feature.
yesterday I charged 2 of my recovery lorry batterys on the vehicle which had gone flat due to the driver leaving the lights on I had no problem at all, after 30 mins charging the vehicle started ok the genny did not even labour. I m taking one out to Spain for my boat later this month I think they are perfect as a stand by for emergencys, The others will be carried on my recovery vehicles for starting diesels ect or the stuff that standard battery jump packs wont touch. I once had flat batteries on the boat at sea whilst fishing, someone left the freshwater pump switched on & I had not switched to 1 battery , only just managed to get started using a jump pack. With one of these it will never happen again £70.00 is a small price to pay for peace of mind. ...........Nat

Hi Nat

Thanks for the tip - we have used Makro over the years. Am going to buy the £60 genny and a 2.3kw one at £199 this Tuesday. Great for the boat as a back up power source and at home for power outages/ garden power tools, camping weekends etc. They also do tv/dvd combos at £99, Hoover Vacs at £20 approx, Microwaves at £25 - £30 etc etc. (Anyone wants to see Makro products : click on www.makro.co.uk and open their e booklets.) Anyone who is a vat registered business owner and can justify these kinds of purchase for part or total business use, can claim back part or all of the vat and obviously tax write downs also.

Soon be springtime. Happy boaty days. Roy

<hr width=100% size=1>What does this mean then?

Hello Roy
While your there have a look at the sit on electric scooters £79.00 ideal for round
the marina's nipping to the shops ect. they are legal in Spain, but far more expensive out there. There's so much cheap gear in Makros I go in there for one thing & come out with 5
