Cheap Garmin Etrex

I have just walked past Lillywhites in Piccadilly Circus this lunchtime and they have a large poster in their window advertising the Garmin Etrex for £49.99---looks to be a pretty good price to me. At that price one must assume that it's the basic model.
No connection etc--just thought that it looked very cheap.

"Field and trek" - national-outdoory-chain - are also selling them for £49.99. It is the basic etrex model, but i think its a very good price for a functional bit of kit.
In fact i wouldn't hesitate to buy one.
If i didn't have one all ready.
That i buoght last year.

I think you will find that is a branch of Field and Treck in Lilywhites and yes it is the Etrex H.

HWMBO has one as back-up to his main plotter and uses it a lot for PC and other work. He swears by it and I have to agree that he has a point when he says it's better than buying a USB mouse GPS.
