Magnum, have you tried Air Berlin? Manchester Palma.
Also the trick really is to book very early & I mean very early!! ie I book my flights as soon as they are released and book up to 4 months in advance, not difficult to get £20 & £30 + Tax each way. I dont take them all and take a view on each one as to wether to move or change names is worth it. Also the Offers are very worth doing IE 6 return flights this year at tax only price. Funny how we have no problems paying for some things and others become a pet hate.
I agree, I have already booked the flights for all our planned visits next year with Jet2. I was checking daily for their release and booked as soon as they were available. I think they average about £90 per visit for each of us. Last year we hummed and ha'd about dates and delayed booking for about a month which cost me an extra £400! so as Fred Pontin used to say "book early"
Will probably keep a lookout for other bargains to try and get more visits - in fact just booked a January visit for £50 including tax.
With the fuel situation and taxes I think the days of really cheap flights are gone for now and if I recall correctly the EU have stopped regional airports offering subsidies
Their statistical analysis and market experience tells these guys exactly when to sting you most. They are passed masters at it - they have to be, its their job. Summer & school holidays especially.
We fly to Malaga and the price variance is staggering. I think taxes and charges is closely related to fuel surcharge, which must be quite hefty these days.
Thats a good point. When we had our boat in Denia, we could choose between Alicante, Valencia and even Madrid and choose the cheapest
With Majorca, there's not much choice although I suppose you could fly to Barcelona and get the fast ferry across but I suspect you would'nt save much if anything
Hi Matt
Ive used Monarch sheduled for the last 2 years, I often look at other airline prices but have decided that for the difference in price its not worth the bother. perks with monarch include free exec lounge & free extra legroom seats which is important for me as I am over 6' tall. Also over the last 2 years I have had only one delayed flight. I have also missed my flight on 2 occasions & been put on the next one no bother at all Im off this weekend for a flying visit back.on Mon night cost of flight nothing as I used my airmiles which you get with every flight you book with no catches, airport taxes 31gbp + 4gbp booking fee......Nat
Yes but they dont allow you to have the extra legroom (emergency aisle) seats if you've got kids and the standard seats have a much tighter seat pitch than Easy or Bmi
