Cheap berth in Cowes?

A friend of a friend is sailing over in a 20 footer for 2 - 3 weeks soon. Anyone have any ideas where he could leave the boat for a while in the Cowes / Medina area? Ta.

No such thing! Actually, the Visitors' Moorings up at The Folly are council owned, and reasonable. Probably your mate's best bet.

This is all the info I have got from his Polish friend:

The yacht is smaller than 23 feet. It's 5.79 m, so less than 20 ft.
Precise dimensions:
Lenght - 5.79 m
Width - 2.14 m
Depth (immersion) 0.7 m

As I said he's near the Ostend now, planning to arrive here in the beggining
of May, staying for 2-3 weeks. The price is an issue for my friend, so a
cheap option is welcomed.

If Newport isn't too far up, give Jim at Odessa Marine a ring. Drying walk ashore pontoons. With that draft he would be afloat approx 2 hours before and 3 hours after high tide.

Shepherds Wharf used to be relatively cheap, 'cept during Cowes Week. Is it still there?

yes its still there, but not particularly cheap IIRC. Gets really busy at weekends and there was a yucky swell when we used it a couple of years ago.

It's posh now - charges. All done up with a big block of "Luxury Apartments" being built.

You could try giving the CCYC a ring, I was told by someone from there that there are occasionally visitor's berths if you ask nicely. The natives are not only friendly, i.e. not your typical posh yacht club, but their bar is pretty good as well.
