It's actually cheaper to go trans atlantic then it is roubd europe as there is much more shipping available.

Ok so it might be £95k and that allows £16k plusVAT for shipping

Question for you Jez.

Once you've completed a deal and bought your own boat will you stop the incessant threads/posts about cheap boats?

Talking down boat values isn't helping any current boat owner.

:) Of course you start to talk them up then, just in case you want to sell, that supply and demand or wants and needs however you want to put it  Good luck to Jez I say we all like a bargain, except for course if you are the one selling :)

I'm not sure you are serious Ben.

But in case you are, do you think that no one spots these boats or somehow if they don't appear on here they don't exist?

The market is what it is and me highlighting them on a moderately popular marine forum won't affect it one way or the other. If someone is going to pick up a good buy, why not someone on here?

The boat I'm buying is worth what I'm paying for it. Next year it will likely be worth less. 5 years who knows.

These prices are in the public domain already. Jez isn't exactly flooding the market with cheap boats and pushing prices down, merely highlighting existing good deals.

I suspect he's probably helping current boat owners a lot more than having them stick their boat up for some dreamland price because that's what it was worth when they bought it a decade ago, only to sit on it unsold for two years accruing costs and depreciating further.

I think they're interesting threads.

Am not sure he is bring boat values down. In reality if I look at that Azimut pictures all I see is costs to bring it in turnkey condition.
For example that engine room looks hell to me, and the inside looks rather humid and dirty.

That Azimut 46 can be a good deal, but it needs to be some-one who can do a lot of things himself all else it might go way over budget of what a good 46 costs in Italy atm.
And prices have been stabilizing in Italy for the good stuff in the last year, minus boats which do need some serious TLC or full overhaul.

Not in the same league but there were three Sealine 310 Statesmans with petrol engines for sale on the Norfolk Broads 2 months ago, was told I was selling mine too cheaply but all I did was take off the brokerage charge and make sure mine was well presented then advertised on the free sites. mine sold after 4 days. Today there are 2 Sealine 310 statesmen with petrol engines, slowly reducing in price for sale on the Broads, true they are not in the kind of condition mine was but I would wager in 6 months time they will either have been reduced to the same or lower than I sold mine or they will still be for sale.
Owners need to be realistic but then again so do buyers, the Bargains Jez finds are only a bargain if they are any good and we all know the chances of that.

Um, not very serious, but a little teeny weeny bit.

Afterall, at some point we might all want to sell, some bloke on the internet highlighting the lower priced boats isn't going to cheer anyone up! I just prefer to be a little more positive about such things.

As Shaun points out - it's not everyone's cup of tea and it is cheap for a reason. Though if you had the skill and the time you could sort it fairly easily and get a nice boat with less financial outlay subsidised by your time.

Of course there are people who will think they can buy any 46 over for the same money ignoring all the facts but they are a) few and far between and b) probably never had theory for a straight one so the owner of such hadn't lost out

P.s I didn't think you were serious

Jez, keep posting the links and keep driving those prices down (well until I'm back in the water anyway).

Regarding that Azimut, its so hard to tell what its like from the pics. It could be the deal of the century if all the work is cosmetic or it could be a basket case. I love one bit of the description "Uncomfortable lower helm position". That's what you call honesty!

Let me know if you see any bargain T34's!

Pete

Jez ,s new boat is a cracker ( iam not giving the game away ) but I think it's nice he's enthusiasm for posting good deals from the EU.
I,am guilty of that too.
Also due to Gexit debacle and rising £ ,more and more will not just look ,but actually get up and buy an EU boat.
My big post was Nov/ Dec 2014 .Sharing my experience .
I have had a few PM,s from folks on here ,in the early stages of what now seems a well trodden path .
Thing is folks the brokers keep you on there mailing lists ,so I think it's a nice post stimulates conversation to put up a "cor look at this boat " thread ,
We are not trying to demeanour or criticise anything to do with the UK boat scene re buy / sell .
If any thing we are just ,by posting our experiances opening up a well trodden path to the EU .
The Guy who posted the "S34 vs targa 34 "thread is in Spain now as you read this hunting down a 40 ft shafty circa 10-15 y old -
