I have one which cost me £350 at the Soton Boat Jumble last Easter. I've been happy with it the minimal times its got used this year with a couple of provisos.

1. It can "crash", the cure seems to be unplugging it and leaving it for 5 mins or so, fine if its not flush mounted... (mine isn't)

2. It can be a bit of a palaver changing screens and so forth until you get used to it, it doesn;t seem too intuitive

The 950 followed on quite quickly afterwards. However, at sub £400 it seems so far to have been a good option. I don't know if my new radio will read GPS position data from it though, and nor do the company.

Try

http://www.navman.com and check the FAQ for problems the company know about.

Two beers please, my friend is paying.
