Chartplotter/Fishfinder Manufacturers Info

Hi all,
Probably getting ahead of myself, but if the survey is good and we find a mooring and we get to buy this boat, I have been thinking of upgrading the Plotter/Fishfinder, two have caught my eye the Raymarine Element HV and the Simrad Go XSE, both in 9" size, no reason appart from they are in my price point and looked at some Youtube Vids.

This got me thinking of what each manufacturer are like on warranty etc in the UK, so any other plotter suggestions I should consider and anyone have feedback on if they have had to return a faulty plotter and how the claim was handled.

Probably nothing to choose among the mainstream suppliers - add Garmin to your list. they are all much the same and generally reliable. Choose the one that you think meets your requirements best.

Thanks for the reply, being a good fishfinder is just as important to me as the plotter side, so did like the look of the Raymarine Element HV but they al have flashy websites and the model range v price is similar in all of them so as you said think they are all the same, you pays your money etc lol

We used a Furuno Colour plotter in the Med for 3 years between 2001 2004, never missed a beat. We called it "Mr Furuno" the wise one.

Thanks will check it out, good to here from people wh have used it, so many dodgy reviews online from people getting a good backhander from the product people
