Friday evening and Saturday were predictably the worst weather for the last week or more but I think everybody that came with us had a good time. A very different sort of sailing. And after brailing up the mainsail and winching up the leeboards a couple of times I am starting to doubt the old claims that they were traditionally sailed by a man and a boy.

You forgot the third crew member, the dog! Very important that. The dog kept lookout whilst the man gave orders and the boy did the work. They made tougher boys in those days.

The dog on this one seemed to be highly trained to scrounge food and bark at jetskis.

Tell us how you got her into Titchfield haven , how much depth and how long, did you have space reserved alongside, I have never thought it possible to get anything bigger than 25 ft in there?

It helps if you're cruiser captain at the sailing club and best mates with the harbour master. The 25ft maximum is for permanent moorings; I'm a regular visitor in my 29 footer and other club members and visitors come in with 35 footers occasionally. But I'm pretty sure that 77 feet is a record.

The other thing is that it floats on a heavy dew !
