Re: charter sharing forum?

hm. Well, i spose that posting here is a start

praps kim could start a boat/charter share forum? So peeps cd put up ads saying they wanted to share and what they anted to share?

Mind you, it wd be best of course if you knew the peepe beforehand a bit. Cos otherwise they might be the sort who szaty up drinking all the whisky till 5am arguing with your wife about how old she is or whether lamborghinis are any good, ahem.

Re: charter sharing forum?

So, if you know the peeps beforehand, that safeguards against them staying up till 5am on whiskey, age of wife and Lambos? Right!

Tony, could you just log your request with the charter co (if it's one of the big ones, moorings/sunsail etc). They might get the same enquiries off others so could put you in touch

What size boat? Most 40footish charterboats have one nice cabin then several cupboard-under-the-stairs types. So you would have to fight that one out or arrive early on the first day to bagsy the best one. If it's 140 feet that wont be so much an issue

by far the best place for linking up with like-minded people is here. i've recruited lots of crew from among this bunch of apparent nutters, i'v also sailed with some pretty strange individuals but all those came from other sources!

tell us more of your plans

Try using the charter company to do the spade work. Got this in my e-mail today:

Yacht share
You would like to charter a bareboat yacht but would like to share the cost with another couple, individual or group of people. Request a 'yachtshare opportunity' and we will do our best to help you out. Or visit the following link for updates:

<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.odysseysailing.gr/special_offers.html#yachtshare>http://www.odysseysailing.gr/special_offers.html#yachtshare</A>

Mind you, like pot luck flotilla boats, there will probably be high risk of falling out with your shipmates, unless you are extremely tolerant.

Best of luck - you'll need it! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
