Chart table light and dimmer switch

I’ve just removed the old chart table light and would like to install one of the under-£25 ones on the Force 4 site, with a dimmer switch.
Can anyone recommend any of these (or others) and which dimmer switches would be compatible?

I bought a few of these. Can remove the back to make it into a nice flush mount in a panel.
Will handle up to 8 amps.
Add any light you like as long as it's dimmable.
Have 6x4w cob leds in main cabin roof. Brighter than daylight but dimmable to night sailing mode where they barely glow.
The cob led comes in round, square or oblong. Has all sorts of connectors to plug them into various light fittings.
Bought quite a few as spares but none have failed and I have them all over the boat
I know they are not chart table lights but I'm sure these items may also be of interest

I’m just trying to figure out which dimmers work with which type LEDs, and what leds the chart lights use.

I redid all my lighting and was also going to add red leds to many for night until my friend enlightened me to the fact that it's not the colour for nigh time vision but the intensity.
Now I just dim them lots at night and don't suffer the lack of colour perception you get when using red.
I would also suggest getting a more powerful than needed cob (chip on board) as the dimmer will be running them in my case around 40% so they can't get to hot and die.
You also have the advantage of being able to illuminate the cabin with brighter than daylight when looking for something.
I bought mains powered led flush fit ceiling lights and just put a 12v cob inside.
Worked out around £2.30 per light .
Even the old fluorescent tube light are great with a bright cob inside.
Diffused lens in light fitting helps

I like this idea for lighting all over the boat. So have I got this right? You get those cod led bulbs and pit them into your existing light fittings ( or buy new light fittings but replace the led bulbs with these cod ones) and then wire the dimmer switches next to them so each light is controllable for intensity?

I purchased this.

It is good looking, has a built in dimmer and change of white light colour (but no red).

Works very well.

Basically yes. The cob led is mounted on an aluminium flat plate. Acts as a heat sink.
They often have self adhesive on the back but run at full power get hot and they come unstuck. These things are extremely bright so a diffuser lens helps to even out the look.
They come with bayonet and festoon adaptor to connect to many bulb type fittings.
I used the edge of small screw heads to hold led in place.
The dimmer can be connected anywhere between the battery and the light, running multiple lights .
I removed the guts of a fluorescent strip light and put in 2 cob led. Far to bright !
You get warm and daylight. Warm is the same colour as a normal light bulb, daylight is superwhite

Bear in mind some LED dimmers can be very RF noisy, worth checking the AIS & VHF still work as well with the lights on as they do when the lights are off.
