Chart plotter advice

Many thanks to all. Very Illuminating. Will go for SH but still to decide between the 500 and the 300.

I want to install a large format chart plotter at the wheel in the cockpit of my boat and would like to hear of peoples recommendations for good quality all-weather kit. Thanks in advance

As a Standalone plotter the SH is good but if you want a decent integrated system including radar it is not the best option.

I think I'd agree with that; I like the look of the Navico brands' broadband radar, plus there's always the standard Raymarine or professional Furuno.

I was just pointing out that radar is available for SH plotters.

The last is important, if you have polarised glasses the screen may be invisible. SWMBO cannot see our plotter when she is wearing her glasses, and if she takes them off she can't read it anyway!
