Charcoal briquettes in Spain/Med

I am thinking buying a Cobb BBQ and I understand they need briquettes or, preferably, Heat Beads. Can anyone tell me whether they have found briquettes in Spain and elsewhere in the Med? I can't find any in Almerimar though haven't looked in the surrounding towns yet. There is no point in buying one if I can't get the fuel. Many thanks.

Thanks, I was hoping that we might be able to source something in local chandleries or supermarkets but where we are there doesn't seem to be a supply. Maybe it's a good reason to go for gas.

The Cobb UK people haven't replied to my email sent several days ago so maybe I will give them a miss anyway - don't want to get involved in buying online from a company that doesn't answer its emails.

i had no prob finding charcoal in the med, plenty of places seemed to have it

I've found plenty of basic charcoal, but how about briquettes?

In <u>this</u> part of the Mediterranean, at least, you'll find briquettes for sale at a variety of places, ranging from any supermarket right down to practically any corner hardware store. (Yes, we do still have these!)
FWIW I think that wood charcoal gives a better taste, especially when compared to the 'easy-light' kind of bead.
Personal opinion, of course.
