Channel Islands & France no real plans

Bloody daft why they put the visitors on the pontoon nearest the marina entrance, even when it's flat calm you still get the wash off the ferries. If you arrive at the top half of the tide it's always worth locking through to Bassin Vaubin.

I'm off either sat eve or Sunday morning to Granville, leaving there Monday morning to spend the day in Chausey before home.

The outer ones are a bit like that but you can go further in and it's fine.

I had thought about Bassin Vauban but did not fancy the lock too much or the chance of being on a wall with climb up if pontoons busy which were all rafted when we walked past.

Had the wind been moderate 5 ish we probably would of gone up the river to Dinan or Lyvet at least. I would of liked to of got west towards Binic or St Quay but the wind has been too stron and in he wrong direction to even sneak around the coast.

On the plus side the market in St Servan this morning (tue n Fridays) was great with loads of choices of cheeses, meats etc and very busy with local shoppers which is always a good sign. Had lunch in St Malo and Jacques likes moules frites.

Yep, thinking about it the winds got a n in it which does blow through the head of the pontoon there, try moving further down as its more shelters, (same pontoon).

Still Saturday mid morning looks like a drop in the wind strength.

Nice and sunny here in SPP

My "companion" now has commitments saturday eve so we'll be leaving first thing sunday morning.

Back in Jersey now :( a slightly lumpy departure from St Malo earlier. Sea calmed off lots once offshore and towards Les Minquiers.

I am editing previous posts and adding photos where relevant now I have decent internet and an hour spare, hope you all enjoy.

Overall we had a cracking couple of days but it was a shame we could not move along the coast a bit (I like using the boat at sea not just as a caravan). Having been to St Malo many times before 2 full days was enough for us.
