Anon means anonymous users. I was just looking at the number of registered users and anon users. There are far more anons. How odd! Why not register and take part from time to time?

Anyway not the purpose of post. Anyone done the channel Islands. I am now based in Cardiff. Has anyone done it from thereabouts. Itinerarary? Suggestions, time allowed for trip, must miss, must include, Do this thing and die a slow painful death etc. All views gratefully received. Thanks.

Loads of people will be looking in due to having ended up on that post or thread as a result of a search engine search. They will not necessarily have any long term interest in the forum, though I have no doubt that many will browse, return, browse some more, and a few will sign up. Many more of the anons will be search engine spiders updating their information

Never gone to Ci from Cardiiff. But have been to Cardiff (Penarth) a few times. Also been to Ci's a few times. Duno what distances you want to do. But you get yerself down to Padstow. Maybe Swansea first. Then Penzance but better Newlyn. Now you can make the desision. Straight to CI's or go up coast to maybe Salcolmbe. Then only 65 miles to Aldeney or Guernsey. Personally. SC of Devon and Cornwall, much nicer than CI's (Boat wise). I'd spend yer time there.

Umm. Scillies much nicer than CI's. Closer as well.

I beg to differ (I would!)

There are more Channel Islands than just Alderney & Guernsey - Jersey, Herm, & Sark! Don't forget the Ecrehous!!!!!
If you have plenty of time there are dozens of places to visit - if you can take the ground there are even more. Not to mention cheaper marina fees that the South Coast and many bays to anchor for free.

Don't know much about Bristol Channel but once round Lands End Falmouth - Channel Isles is an easy leg.
If weather settled do not miss the islands smaller rocks Herm ( Shell beach), Sark ( Derrible Bay) Erchou, Minkies and Chausey ( sorry about the spelling)
Also French ports are cheaper and also interesting Dilette, Carteret and Granville

have a good trip you could easily spend all summer poodling around.
