channel island 22

Hello , thinking of buying channel island 22 with 56hp engine ,owner says it only cruises at about 6 knts ,at 3000 revs surely it should be better than this , i am looking for cruising at 10knts .

Have you seen this:

if its a single 56 hp that seems low powered .......would be 10 knots with two off.

It’s almost certainly not going to get past displacement speed with 56hp, so I suspect 6kts is about right.
My CI 22 would about 17kts flat out with 140hp.

I had a CI 22
Which I totally rebuilt from stem to stern
Managed to get her on ‘WOT’ to achieve 19kts as per manufacturers Spec
Great little boats
Twin Volvo 45/50 hp each ( later vessels) will only achieve roughly 15 kts max, if your lucky
