Could anyone with a C/I 22 tell me the correct propeller diameter and pitch of a Hyperform 4 blade. It is for a Channel Island 22 that is fitted with a Ford "Mremaid Turbo Four" 140 bhp? I have 14"x13" and am wondering if that is correct to give maximum speed.

There were many engine, gearbox and hull shape combinations to give a standard fit.

Does your boat have sugar scoops? like a fixed trim tab in Grp?

Go to Clements marine with boat weight, engine model, current max RPM, gearbox ratio, shaft diameter and current prop details and they will be able to tell you if you have the right prop.

You have not bought Bilbo have you?

There are quite a few around my way and good boats for the size.

I assume you had corrosion to the prop nut which always goes first if there is a problem.

Check the electrical connection Prop and shaft to P Bracket, Rudder and anode etc and then check the condition of all the wiring to the anodes is in good condition sometimes you get corrosion from a wet bilge wicking up the wire inside the insulation. If you need to replace any wiring for the anodes use tinned wire which is much more resistant to corrosion.

Tried a four blader on mine, which had the 140 turbo
Went back to three blades and reached 19.25 kts
What make gearbox does She have and what reduction?

Thanks Kawasaki, Good to hear from you again.
I took Bandit's advice and contacted Clements Marine and they told me the 3 blade made them faster, although a four blade was sometimes favoured because it was (quote) "to keep the boat very smooth and sacrifice the top speed"
I have a Borg Warner 1:1 ratio or direct.
Interesting to hear you went back to a 3Bl after using a 4Bl. So what was the 4Bl ? was it a hyperform one?.. I am wanting Top Speed! Chris.
