Actually I took Alan Priddy there for lunch the other week. Seems to me they were already winding down for closing as the food wasn't up to the usual standard.

Looks quite bare now the Cammie J has gone and half the other boats are on dry dock.

Dom, do you know Flavio's restaurant? Last time I was there, he was very ill so someone else in charge and the service seemed to suffer. I think he had some sort of serious kidney problem. Wondered if he was ok.

ps , On target for visit end of March, If your still up for a beer.

If you're going to go to Guernsey, you might as well go to Jersey too as it is much more exciting in the winter. Only an extra 30 miles, but it is great cruising round the smaller harbours of the north and east coasts. Watch the swinge as there are 7 knt tides running 5 hrs before hi-tide. If you are gonna go to Sark, go to Dixcart as the holding ground is good and it is sheltered from all wind 'cept southerlies.
Very advisable is getting the Channel Island small crafty folio by Admiralty as it gives charts of alderney, guernsey including big & little russel, sark, near coast of france, herm, jersey and the english channel with channels islands on it.
Try the ports of Carteret, Diellette and Portbail as they are really friendly places.
Hope you enjoy your stay

Mark, I cannot believe why you run out of fuel after 150 miles, do you have 200 41a/b or 165 40b, if you have 40b and the fuel consumption is poor I can tell you why as I have done job on a Fairline Corniche with these engines in he had a habbit of running out too!.

Those engines are really too small for the boat but they were also small for the Fairline, I had Corniche with 200;s in a great boat, but back to your problem.

Friend had 165 in F/line, trip out in Solent, nearly ran out transom thick with soot and diesel a right mess, tested injectors nothing wrong, came to put back in, some yard I will not mention had recently overhauled them but did not put the correct size copper washers back on the injectors and completely missed out the small heat shield washers under the nozzle;s so that may be your problem, good luck!, it cured his problem completely.
