Same problem with a Raymarine VHF 215 DSC. I need to change the MMSI number because I changed the flag of my boat. I did all the legal steps: I canceled my license with the former Authority (Finnish) and got a new code from the present Authority (Italian) but now I have to find a Raymarine dealer with the right skill and the right instrument to perform the change... in Greece where my boat is moored. Wouldn't it much simpler if I could enter the new MMSI as I entered the first? I do not see any serious reason for not making it possible.
