I've tried acouple of times. My new No1 in the foil and old No1 flying free. In usually light winds, but the idea seems to work well. A lot easier than rigging a cruising shute/genneker in the useless "tube" which came with the boat, and gets all caught-up every time I try to use it - even AFTER totally re-stuffing, it on the lawn!!
Not sure how it would cope with a strong wind, but I'd still rather do it than have all the hassle of hoisting a spinnaker and all that that entails.
I sail mostly single-handed, so spinnaker stays in the bag!
