Changing a boats name ?

Any particular reason for picking "VA 876 BN" ?

Just in case anyone was wondering, giving the boat my wife's nickname didn't result in my wife liking the boat any better.

I knew someone who wanted a short cathy name for his new boat, he asked me " what's that short name they use for whales, that would be good ? "

' What, ' Sperm ' ? apparently wasn't the one he meant.

Is this related to the ' Carter Concubine ' design ?

There used to be a maker of Fireball racing dinghies called ' Virgin ' - long before Richard Branson expanded from music publishing.

There was a Fireball in Chichester called ' She's A Virgin ' with an attractive female crew, as time went on we wondered if the boat needed a renaming...

I had a French boat called MICK and I was selling it.
On the day when a buyer was to do a viewing I decided to change the name by adding an "I" at the end making it MICKI
We went out for a trial sail and the engine started to run badly and not reach full revs.
Back in Port the buyer made me a low offer (due to the engine) which I accepted.
Pulling the boat out of the water the following day I found that the propellor had picked up a fishing net.
The boat was OK when I changed the Name, when I went through the sea lock later the fishing net was waiting for me.
