Managed to get out for a few hours. Had a selection of weather. Locked out in gentle breeze. The customs cutter Sentinel had just locked out of Cardiff Dock.

.Wind perked up and had cracking sail down towards Barry then wind went to zero. Anchored for an hour sailed back up with the tiniest of breezes but loads of tide.

The wolves rocks were still showing an hour after low water. Not much water in Cardiff Roads either.

Locked in and just got ashore as the rain started.

Roll on Summer.

I saw the customs boat coming in to Cardiff on Sat, as we came back from the Holms in the drizzle.

The wind has been dying in the evenings. Louise and I sailed on Monday night until after dark in the bay (practising) and it died then, and I took Ishtar around the bay last night on my own - first ever single handed, and the same happened. It was touching 20 knots at about 3pm, but nothing at all by 6.

We're hoping to get out for a sail tomorrow, if Louise is not too tired and we can lock out before it gets too low.

Sounds lovely.

There is a new police rib in the area, which will carry an armed security patrol and liaise with Customs. It is also called Sentinel - their comms are going to be interesting..."Sentinel Sentinel Sentinel, Sentinel Sentinel Sentinel" /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
