Are there any good chandlers in the canaries that can supply distress flares?
With the tax advantage in the Canaries, I was wondering whether it is worth waiting till for December when I get there and then buy a replacement 2015 offshore flares or be safe and buy current pack in the UK which will expire in 2016 and I loose out a year of validity.

I am really just making sure I can replace my flares in the Canaries as they expire in 2015!

Re: the pilot book. Mhhhh - I dont think there is a rush given the current edition is 2011 so already 3 years out-of-date information and by the time I get there almost 4 years old.

I think the main chandlery will likely be Rolnautic in Las Palmas on GC, but Arrecife will also have "easy" stuff like flares. I was gonna add a warning here about date-stamped stuff cos Spansih liferafts can "time out" in a year but i know flares bought in sp are ok for 3 years...
