Am going there next week and travelling on to one of the islands by hydrofoil and thought that I could pick up some bits on passing through Piraeus thus saving weight on flight from UK .
usual things - anchor warp , fuel filters , anitfoulant paint ( paint not allowed on flight etc )
You lucky thing /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif We've just come back from Aegina which was fantastic. My friend does not know of a specific chandler (non boater) but there are many around the port within walking distance, he does not think that you will have a problem finding one. Have a fantastic time. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Hi there.Aproximately 500 mtrs from the hydrofoil terminal is Marina Stores on Gounari str can't miss it It's got a huge sign as well. You ll find almost anything there but it's a bit expencive. Now for more options try the small street paralel to it (at the back) and you ll find many smaller stores with better prices allthough for more specific things I would try ALEX MARINE also in this street.Enjoy your stay.
Most such stuff is obtainable on the islands anyway, and if a particular item can't be found, can be ordered and delivered from Athens/Piraieus anyway at no or little additional cost. One of the advantages of being in an area where every other family has a fishing boat!
Three yards for shore layup on the north coast, and of course, the main town harbour is well sheltered if you're afloat. Lots of ferries to Piraeus, so I see why you asked the Q now!
+1 for Alex Marine and quick service. This summer my Lofrans motor blew the ghost while at Paros. Next morning a new one was waiting for me at the courrier office.
